    It is hoped that this website will provide you with some detailed information about one of the most famous groups in pop history. With information about the four members of the group ' George Harrison, Paul MacCartney, John Lennon and Ringo Starr.'
 

    The Beatles are most probably the most legendary group in the history of pop music.
    A group of 4 Liverpudlians that changed the face of music with their northern style of rock and roll.

    Brian Epstein, their manager, played a considerable part in their success, his parents owned a record shop which he managed and used his limited influence as a prominent retailer to find them arecording contract, which he did, with Parlophone, who signed the Beatles up on the recommendation that they change their drummer, who at the time was Pete Best, which they did, replacing him with Ringo Starr in August 1962.

    The Beatles first single was 'Love me do' which Lennon and MacCartney co-wrote, it reached the top 20 but wasn't released outside the uk.

    In January 1963 another Lennon/MacCartney song was released 'Please please me' and was their first major success, toppping 3 of the 4 British charts and reaching number 2 in the 4th.

    The group were becoming extremely popular in no time with their constant publicity and touring.

    The groups 3rd single 'From me to you' topped the UK singles chart and in August 1963 'She loves you' also reached number 1. From here onwards 'Beatlemania' was hitting Britain.
